LAWRENCE RUNNELS Mrs. Barnes, 91, of Philadelphia, died Monday, May 1, 2017, at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia. She was born in Neshoba and a longtime resident of the Hope/Coldwater Communities. She retired from Neshoba General Hospital as a nurses’ aide. Mrs. Barnes was a member of North Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the Hope Homemakers Club. Survivors include her sons, Jerry (Judy) Barnes of Philadelphia and Joe (Beverly) Barnes of Ethelsville, AL; daughter, Brenda (Ron) Sizemore of Huntington, WV; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Iva Beckham of Philadelphia; two brothers, Billy Jolly of Philadelphia and Harvey Jolly of Wenatchee, WA; and a host of nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, D. J. Barnes, Jr.; and eight brothers and sisters.Pallbearers are Joey Barnes, Josh Barnes, Ken Butler, Stan Johnston, Thomas Jolly and John Rutherford. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Todd Willis, nurses and staff of Neshoba County Nursing Home Station 2.
