STEVE ROBINSON Mr. Rivers, 92, of Philadelphia, died Friday, April 21, 2017 at Neshoba County General Hospital. He was a native and longtime resident of the Golden Grove community of Neshoba County. He was retired after 35 years as a rural mail carrier and also a dairy farmer for many years. Mr. Rivers was a member of Golden Grove Methodist Protestant Church. He was a member of Dairy Herd Improvement Association, Rural Letter Carrier Association; National Rifle Association, and a member of Republican National Convention. Mr. Rivers served with the U. S. Army during World War II, Company K, 10th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Army in Europe. He was a member of Veteran of Foreign Wars and a lifetime member of American Legion. Survivor include his wife of 73 years, Ona Bell Rivers; son, Terry Rivers (Margaret); son-in-law, Warren Hedgepeth, all of Union; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Rivers was preceded in death by his parents, Thad and Bea Rivers; daughter, Linda Dale Hedgepeth; granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn Rivers; nine sisters and brothers.
