STAN STEWARTMrs. Frances Stokes, 90, of Preston, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Choctaw Residential Center in Philadelphia.  She was a native and longtime resident of Preston and attended Prince Chapel School.  Mrs. Stokes married D. W. Stokes in 1947, and was an avid gardener and homemaker.  She really enjoyed working in the flower beds and playing puzzle books.  She loved her families, including all of her nieces and nephews.  Survivors include her daughter, Roma Cheatham of Preston; grandchildren, Greg Cheatham (Vicki) of Preston, Brad Cheatham of Clarksdale, Chris Cheatham (Trina) of Philadelphia; six great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; sister, Lenda Leo Eastman of Meridian; brother, Cecil Jones (Annette) of Philadelphia; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.  Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her husband, D. W. Stokes; parents, Phillip and Willie Jones; sisters, Nita White, Agnes Jones, Lillie Partridge, Roma Stewart, Nancy Wright and Izola McLain; brothers, James T. Jones and Edward Adam Jones.   Pallbearers are Daniel Cheatham, Griffin Cheatham, Russ Cheatham, Rocky Higginbotham, Sterling Stewart and Phillip Wright.
