Nellie Luke Cook

Services for Nellie Luke Cook were held Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 2 PM from the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Schwake and Rev. Ray Luke officiating. Nellie died Monday, August 24 in MS Care Center of DeKalb. She was born to Madison Herbert Luke and Mary Eliza Stokes Luke in the Coy community of Neshoba County. She lived and worked most of her life in Neshoba County. She worked in retail sales for Mars Brothers for 23 years until she opened a dress shop of her own, Nellie’s Womens Apparel. She closed her business and retired in 1985. She was a member of Coy United Methodist Church. Nellie did not have children of her own, but she was a mother, grandmother figure to her numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by one sister, Rachel Luke Nance and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie Luke, Nannie Luke, and Ruth Cook; and brothers, Earl Luke and Hermon Luke.
