CHESTER CARLISLEMr. Thomas, 87, of Moss Point, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Singing River Rehab and Nursing Center in Moss Point, MS. He was a native of Neshoba County and a resident of Pascagoula for almost 50 years.  He graduated from Bloomo High School in 1948, and then joined the U. S. Army at age 18, serving two years as a truck driver.  He joined the USMC for two years as a paratrooper.  Mr. Thomas spent most of his time in the service overseas.  He was a life member of American Legion Post 160 and VFW Post 3373 in Pascagoula, MS.Survivors include his sons, Jessie James Thomas of Ackerman, MS, Dennis Thomas (Becky) of St. Rose, LA, Wendall Thomas, Sr. (Kim) of Pascagoula, MS; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sister, Earlene Akins of Philadelphia; brothers, Wallace Thomas (Peggy) of Philadelphia, Jan Thomas (Jean) of Gilmer, TX, and Clifton Thomas of Helena, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews.Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Earl and Maudie Lee Thomas; brothers, James Earl Thomas and Yates Juaquine Thomas; and sister, Juanita Fulton.
