Prather, of Hattiesburg, MS, died Friday, January 20, 2017, at Bedford Care Center in Hattiesburg. He was a native of Baldwin County, MS and had lived in Philadelphia for many years where he worked and retired from the Mississippi Forestry Commission as a communications technician after more than 30 years of service. Mr. Prather was a member of Sandtown United Methodist Church for many years until he moved to Hattiesburg where he became a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church of Hattiesburg. Survivors include his son, Bobby Griffin (Janie) of Hattiesburg; grandchildren, Mark Griffin (Rebecca), Jennifer Griffin, Danny Griffin and Chanon Dillard; great-grandchildren, Brinkly, Adam, Nicholas, Luke and Lola; daughter-in-law, Laura Hoagland of Buford, GA. Mr. Prather was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Prather; son, Charles Griffin; and his parents.
