Ray was born September 22, 1940, to Joshua and Mary (Biggert) Sullivan. He graduated from Central High School in Jackson, MS, in 1958, and completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business from Mississippi College, and was proud to be a veteran of the U. S. Army. Ray enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in any way possible (a four-wheeler ride with Papa was always a favorite for the kids and his dog Clyde). He loved the outdoors and being connected with God through His wonderful creation. Ray was an active member of the Louisville Church of Christ where at times he taught Bible classes and ministered the Gospel to the Lord’s family. Ray is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maxine Vowell Sullivan of Preston, MS; two daughters, Mary Holland of Philadelphia, MS, and Susan Savage (Derrick) of Starkville, MS; grandchildren, Erin Warren of Biloxi, MS, Stefanie Warren of Hattiesburg, MS, Jonathan Warren of Philadelphia, MS, Jennifer Pigg (Ryan) of Havelock, NC, Jessica Childs (Jonathan), Sydney Savage and Bradley Savage, all of Starkville, MS; five great-grandchildren, Rodney, William, Melody MaCray, and Preston Pigg, all of Havelock, NC, and Warren Whigham of Hattiesburg, MS. Ray is preceded in death by his father, Joshua Sullivan, mother and step-father, Mary Sullivan Sparks and John Sparks, and grandson, Joshua Warren.Pallbearers were Bradley Savage, Jonathan Warren, Barry Massey, Craig Massey, Wade Massey, Dave Sanders, Brian Vowell and Gilbert Vowell.
