JASON MARTIN Mrs. Kirkland, 82, of Philadelphia, MS, died Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia, MS. She was a native of Kemper County and lived most of her life in Neshoba County. She retired from the Neshoba County School System in 1999. She enjoyed her grandkids, and also loved cooking, sewing and being a caregiver to everyone. Mrs. Kirkland loved her church and was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Philadelphia. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Renee Stokes (Chris) of Philadelphia; sons, Edward L. Kirkland, Jr. (Sylvia) of Philadelphia, Ronnie Kirkland of Brandon, Michael Kirkland (Becky) of Houlka, MS, Steven Kirkland (Tina) of Brunswick, OH, Andy Kirkland (Shannon) of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren, Melanie, Nathan, Bailey Elise, Tiffani, Matt, Brent, Naomi, Lillian, Cole, Sadie, Will, Abby; eight great-grandchildren, Haiden, Taylor, Karsyn, Maddox, Anny, Faryn, Braylie and Jacob; sisters, Lana Goolsby (Johnny), Gladys Smith (Brad), Cheryl Sparkman (Eddie), Patsy Overton and Linda Marsh; sister-in-law, Ruth Eldridge; brother, Martin Eldridge (Terry); and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kirkland was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Edward L. Kirkland, Sr.; infant daughter, Krista Darlene Kirkland in 1961; parents, Grady and Lucille Eldridge; sister, Katherine Brock; brothers, Henry Grady Eldridge, Jr., and Kenneth Eldridge. Pallbearers are Nathan Kirkland, Matt Kirkland, Will Stokes, Cole Kirkland, Patrick Kirkland and Jordan Sparkman. Honorary pallbearers are Juane Kirkland, Cade Martin, Cyrus Ben, Tyler Pope and Taylor Kirkland.
