SERVICE: WEDNESDAY,JUNE 22, 20162:00 P.M.FIRST BAPTIST CHURCHVISITATION: WEDNESDAY,JUNE 22, 20161:00-2:00 P.M.FIRST BAPTIST CHURCHINTERMENT: FOREST LAWN CEMETERYEva Irene “Rena” Harmon went home to rejoice with Jesus in a life well lived on June 19, 2016.  She was a native of Pachuta, MS, and a longtime resident of Meridian, MS, where she retired after many years as a beautician.  She resided in Philadelphia, MS, for the past twelve years.  Rena lived to share her love of Christ with everyone she met.  She was a member of First Baptist Church, Philadelphia, and enjoyed serving as librarian in the church library.  She loved to paint and travel with her husband, Jim.  She is survived by three children, Jerry Nell Van Iderstine (Bob) of The Villages, FL; Gloria Burkes (Robert) of Philadelphia, MS; and John Taylor Lovorn (Stacy) of Florence, MS; five grandchildren, Danielle Lovorn Lee, Robin Burkes Parker, Eric Van Iderstine, J. T. Lovorn, Sam Burkes; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Francis Davis of Laurel, MS. Mrs. Harmon was preceded in death by her husbands, Jerry Taylor Lovorn and James “Jim” Harmon; grandson, Jason Van Iderstine; and three sisters.  In lieu of flowers, Rena requested that friends and family make donations to the First Baptist Church Library Fund.
