She was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County and graduated from Haskell High School in Lawrence, Kansas. She was owner/operator of the Village Co-op for several years and had worked as a cage cashier at Pearl River Resort for the past 17 years.  She was the first crowned Choctaw Indian Princess, in 1955.  Ms. Buffington was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Survivors include her daughter, Christina Buffington of Collinsville; sons, Kevin Butler of Choctaw, Ken Butler of Union, Karl Butler, Sr. of Choctaw and Kenny Johnson of Jacksonville, Florida; 22 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; niece, Janet Henry Frazier of Philadelphia; and nephew, Bryant Henry, Sr. of Philadelphia. Ms. Buffington was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Henry; and granddaughter, Courtney Steve. Pallbearers are Shane Butler, Shaun Butler, Sidney Butler, Ramiro Perez, Ignacio Perez, Justin Butler, Zachary Butler and Jeremy Butler.  Honorary pallbearers are Dave Frazier, Antonio Perez, Tyler Butler, Karl Butler, Jr., Tristen Fortenberry, Adam Nickey and Robert York, Sr.
