KEITH KEETON Mrs. Violet Blocker DeMarco, 90, of Carthage, died Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was a native and longtime resident of Leake county.  She worked for the Carthage Corporation with over 25 years of service and retired as a supervisor.  Mrs. DeMarco was a member of Carthage United Methodist Church. "Our Mother had many interests beyond sharing in the responsibility of providing income for a family of seven.  All of her activities outside of the home centered around one common theme – “FAMILY”.  When she prepared those huge meals it was to bring her family together. When she travelled it always included family that could travel with her.  She loved to camp and fish, always including her family in these activities whether it be camping with her, fishing with her, or feasting on one of the many fish fries she prepared.  The more family that could participate the better and for those that could not attend she was deeply saddened.  Keeping up with the lives and activities of all her grandchildren occupied much of her time in her final years.  There could never be enough conversation with her regarding the “kids.”    When she entered the nursing home 9 years ago and began her final march towards eternal life, she filled the bookcases and walls of her room with pictures and memorabilia of her “kids.” She touched and inspired so many lives, both family and friends, and we will greatly miss her.  She was surrounded by her children Saturday as she crossed over into her eternal life and home.  GLORY BE TO GOD!!!"                                         From her family Survivors include her sons, Ricky Blocker (Debi) of Meridian and Carl Blocker (Judy) of Carthage; daughters, Beverly Malone (DeTroy) of Carthage, Becky Wade (Samuel) of Brandon, Joan Sanders (Johnny) of Vicksburg; grandchildren, DeLynn Parrish, Sheila Talley, Glenn Sanders, Chris Sanders, Trent Blocker, Tamra Lovelace and Tyler Blocker; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nephew, Wade Dowell of Indianola.
