FRANKLIN GAIL BURTONDorothy Ann Burton Nelson was born August 27, 1939, and died March 15, 2016. She was formerly from Philadelphia, Mississippi, but lived all of her adult life in Metairie, Louisiana. She died at East Jefferson General Hospital. During her working years, she was a licensed beautician, mortician and funeral director, and also owned and operated her own trucking company (Dot’s Trucking Service) until she was disabled in a trucking accident in July of 1989. She is survived by one daughter, Melinda Mae-Ann Nelson Gregoire; and two sons, Ivis Lawrence Nelson and Ernest Wayne Nelson all of Metairie, Louisiana; and a brother, Rev. Franklin Gail Burton of Hernando, Mississippi. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by one son, Charles Henry Nelson; her parents, Henry Tom Burton and Ethel Mae Harbour Burton; and eight brothers, Rev. Charles Henry Burton, Ivis Ray Burton, Ernest Harbour Burton, Tommy Wayne Burton, Samuel Clifton Burton, Rev. Walcie Leon Burton, John Riley Burton and Roland Dale Burton.Pallbearers were: Christopher Nelson, Jason SanMiguel, Rusty Benson, Shawn Burton, Caleb Benson and Don Burton.
