She was born in Sunflower County and lived most of her adult life in Starkville, before moving to Philadelphia 12 years ago.  She married Robert Earl White on November 28, 1942, and worked as a secretary for Mississippi State Cooperative Extension Service until her retirement.  She enjoyed yard work, working with stained glass, and painting.  Mrs. White was a member of Philadelphia Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Booker of Philadelphia and Judith Cole of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Thomas Booker of Philadelphia, Bryan Booker of Brandon, and Lesley Hedlund of Dallas, TX; six great-grandchildren; and two nieces and their families. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Anderson and Bettye Church Shinn; husband, Robert Earl White; and sister, Doris Stone. Pallbearers will be Thomas Booker, Bryan Booker, Jonathan Booker, Tyler Nicholson, Sid Williams, and Glyn Cook. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. White's memory to Sunnybrook Children's Home in Ridgeland, MS, or your favorite charity.
