James "Nuggie" Myers

DENNIS DUVALLMr. Myers, 92, died Saturday, January 23, 2016, at his home in Meridian. He was a native of Philadelphia and Neshoba County.  He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service.  He moved back to Philadelphia in 1969 where he resided until moving to Meridian five years ago.  He worked as a salesman for Meridian Cigar Co. until his retirement in 1994.  Mr. Myers was a member and former deacon of Trinity Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Survivors include his wife, Nita Myers of Meridian; daughter, Vicki Snider (Mike) of Meridian; sons, Ron Myers (Debbie) of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Greg Myers of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren, Trisha Myers Shand, Dave Myers, Jason Myers, Jonathan Myers, Josh Snider and Drew Snider; great-grandchildren, Annie Davis Myers, Darsey Jane Myers, Avery Claire Myers, Annisten Reece Snider and Adalyn Paige Snider; brother, Junior Myers (Wevett) of Philadelphia; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers. Pallbearers are Josh Snider, Drew Snider, Jason Myers, Dave Myers, Jonathan Myers and Aaron Jayroe. Honorary pallbearer is Trisha Myers Shand. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Vet Angels at www.vetangels.org or to your favorite charity.
