CHRIS YOUNGMrs. Wolverton was born on November 11, 1928, to Thomas and Ruby (Bryan) May of the Forestdale community of Neshoba County. Growing up she enjoyed playing basketball and graduated valedictorian from Forestdale High School.  She earned her B.S. Degree in home economics with a minor in chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi.  She taught home economics and science at many of the Neshoba County High Schools for several years and later elementary school usually first or second grade.  She earned her Master’s Degree of Elementary Education from Mississippi State University.  She loved her 37 years of being a teacher and finished her career at Neshoba Central Elementary School. Arline loved her family and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Billy, and two daughters, Jean and Judy, and later with her grandsons, Tony and Bryan DeWeese. She and Billy felt fortunate to travel to many countries in Europe, Mexico, Brazil and Hawaii.  After retirement they bought an RV and enjoyed seeing the U.S. and Canada.  They also enjoyed dancing but especially square dancing.  She enjoyed spending time with her extended family especially at the Neshoba County Fair. Arline was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Billy Wolverton; daughter, Jean Wolverton DeWeese; parents, Thomas and Ruby (Bryan) May; brothers, Bryan and Cook May; and sister, Elizabeth May Fulton. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Wolverton Palmer and husband, Joe of Lebanon, TN; grandsons, Tony DeWeese and wife, Michele of Concord, NC, and Bryan DeWeese and wife, Allison of Madison, MS; great-grandsons, Zachary Nicholas and Harrison DeWeese of Concord, NC and Thomas DeWeese of Madison, MS sister, Bobbye May Henderson of Carthage, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Atwood Personal Care Home and Quality Hospice for their love and care of Arline.Pallbearers were Brent Gray, Kent Gray, Mike Allen, David Barham, Ty Bailey and Dennis Dontrich.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church, 563 East Main Street, Philadelphia, MS 39350 or a favorite charity.
