ROBERT RONCALI Mrs. Doris Catherine Bishop, 94, of Wiggins, MS, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Azalea Gardens Nursing Center in Wiggins. She was born and reared in Neshoba County but lived in Newton County until three years ago when she moved to Wiggins to be close to her family. She married George “Bunt” Bishop in 1940. She had previously owned two restaurants in Newton. Mrs Bishop was a member of Calvary Apostolic Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and her flowers. She loved people and tried to help everyone she knew. Survivors include her son, Jimmy Bishop of Soso; daughters-in-law, Judy Freeman of Agricola and Clara Bishop of Newton; grandchildren, Lynn Clark and Lori May, both of Wiggins, Kim Bynum of Soso, Kaye Cates of Hernando, and James Bishop, Jr. of Vicksburg; 12 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Tolbert of House; sister, Ruby Worrell of Newton; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bishop was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Tolbert; husband, George “Bunt” Bishop; son, Jerry Bishop; four sisters and three brothers.Pallbearers were Bruce Clark, Brent Clark, Daniel Jobe, Levi Culpepper, Larry Freeman and James Bynum.
