MARK CLOYSMr. Walters, 80, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, November 15, 2015, at Anderson Regional Medical in Meridian. He was a native of Neshoba County and a resident of the Jackson area for 42 years, moving back to Neshoba County in 2000.  He served in the Mississippi National Guard for 36 years where he was State Purchasing Director, retiring with the rank of Brigadier General.  Mr. Walters was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Legion of Merit Award and Mississippi Magnolia Medal, along with many others.  He was a member of the National Guard Officers Association.  Mr. Walters attended East Philadelphia Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jo Walters of Philadelphia; daughters, Kim Bennett (Dan) of Columbus and Terri Taylor (Jim) of Conroe, Texas; son, Mark Walters (Megan) of Petal; grandchildren, Kyle Bennett, Lexi Bennett, Sarah Taylor, Sam Taylor (Jordan), John Taylor and Abigail Payne Walters; sister, Ruth Sharp of Plano, Texas; brother, Jack Walters (Connie) of Philadelphia; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Walters was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Velma Walters; sisters, Mae Young, Willie Bolton, Frances Perry, Jimmy Harris and Sue Smith; and brother, James R. Walters.Pallbearers were Tommy Walters, Terry Pair, Charles Pair, Sam Taylor, John Taylor, Kenard Sharp, Larry Sharp and Timothy Sharp.
