JEFF HOLLANDMr. Steve Jones, 69, of Brandon, died Friday, September 11, 2015, at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. He was a native of Carthage, Mississippi, and a graduate of Carthage High School. He attended Mississippi State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Statistics/Data Processing. He worked as a Computer System Analyst at Baptist Hospital, McCarty-Holman, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Saks. Mr. Jones was a member of Pinelake Church-Reservoir Campus and formerly attended Woodville Heights Baptist Church in Jackson. He had served as a deacon at both churches. He was a former assistant Scout Master of Troop 2 in Jackson and a member of Mayberry Ministries for 17 years. Mr. Jones was a veteran of the U. S. Army. His hobbies were woodworking, metal detecting, photography, fishing, shooting, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Judy Jones of Brandon; sons, Gabe Jones (Sherri) and Chris Jones (Beka) all of Austin, Texas, and Jeremy Jones (Christie) of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Oliver, Lucy, Abby, and Harper; sister, Sarah Morton of D’Lo; and nephew, Barry Morton of Gluckstadt.
