DENNIS DUVALLMrs. Akins, 90, passed away Monday, September 7, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Tallahassee, Florida. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and reared in Newberry, South Carolina.  She had made her home in Philadelphia since her marriage, until moving to Tallahassee, Florida, 10 years ago to be with her daughter.  She was retired after 40 years in the banking business.  Mrs. Akins was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Berry and her husband, Keith of Tallahassee, Florida; and three grandchildren, Eric Nicholson of Kansas City, Missouri, Todd Berry of New York, New York, and Melissa Berry of New York, New York. Mrs. Akins was preceded in death by her husband, W.H. “Dub” Akins. Pallbearers are Gary Akins, Wade Akins, Guy Nowell, Stanley Salter, Sid Williams, and Larry Walker.
