Patty Jean Smith

VISITATION:  WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 20155:00 - 8:00 P. M.MCCLAIN-HAYS FUNERAL HOMEPatty Jean Smith, 65, of Philadelphia, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015, at her home. She was a native of Philadelphia and resided in Jackson for numerous years before moving back to Philadelphia.  She received her Nursing Degree from Matty Hersee in Meridian.  She worked for 30 years as a nurse, working for several years in Labor and Delivery at Woman’s Hospital in Jackson. Mrs. Smith was a member of First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia. Survivors include her sister, Pam Irons of Philadelphia; brother, Billy Stokes of Philadelphia; and several nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Ross Smith; parents, U.C. and Betty Stokes; and brothers, Jimmy Stokes and Timmy Stokes. Memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children in Jackson.
