Butts, 77, of Union, died Monday, August 10, 2015. He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and made his home in the Neshoba community for many years. He was a longtime Baptist minister and ministered to nursing home residents at Neshoba County Nursing Home and Hilltop Manor in Union for numerous years. He had also worked as a truck driver, mechanic, and former school bus driver for the Union Public School System. Rev. Butts was a member of Herbert Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his daughter, Vickie McRorey of Collinsville; sons, Jimmy Butts of Philadelphia and Carl Butts of Union; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Goforth of Brandon, Gaynell Conner of Steens, and Lois Huffmaster of Meridian; and several nieces, nephews, and their families. Rev. Butts was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Jean Butts; daughter, Martha Butts; parents, Billie and Agnes Butts; granddaughter, Samantha Butts; and great-granddaughter, Sadie Jean Butts.Pallbearers were: Len Wedgeworth, Mitchell Stephens, Freddie Stephens, Gary Penson, David Penson, and Scott Engle.
