CHESTER CARLISLE Polly Jane Akins, 75, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. She was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County.  Mrs. Akins was a charter member of Grace Baptist Church.  She was retired from Super Saver Optical where she worked as manager/bookkeeper. Survivors include her sisters, Kathryn Moore of Gulfport, Claudia Beaman of Gretna, Nebraska, and Peggy Lofton of Purvis; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Mrs. Akins was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Akins; parents, D.L. and Nannie Thrash; sisters, Ruth Whitecotton and Dean Ward; and brothers, Thurman Thrash and Billy Thrash. Pallbearers are Danny Guthans, Brett Stevens, Drew Watkins, Gary Akins, Eddie Lofton, and Kent Warren.  Honorary pallbearers are Leon Holyfield, Randy Watkins, Gary Stevens, and Cotton Lofton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church, 111 Grace Avenue, Philadelphia, MS, 39350 or Bloomfield Cemetery Fund.
