PERRY MCCALLMr. Lewis, 86, died Friday, July 3, 2015, at Madden Lighthouse. Retired Fire Chief Lewis was a native of Madden, MS. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in WWII, Korea and Vietnam, and was a Purple Heart Recipient. He retired in 1990 from the Philadelphia Fire Department after 20 years, where he had served as Chief since 1979. He formerly served on the Board of Directors for the Mississippi Firefighters Memorial Burn Center in Greenville. Mr. Lewis was a member of Carolina Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Clara Ann Lewis of Madden; daughter, Vickie Savoy and her husband, Milton of Philadelphia; stepdaughter, Lisa Wilbanks and her husband, Bobby of Carthage; stepson, Tony Johnson and his wife, Deree of House; daughter-in-law, Mary Jean Johnson of Madden; grandchildren, Justin Clearman (Mandy), Jerrica Saunders (Tony) and Shaine Savoy (Catrina); step-grandchildren, Reagan, Ryan, Jamie, Kristen, Jenny and Julie; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Mae Martin of Philadelphia; and several nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Lewis; parents, LeeRoy and Jenny Lewis; two sisters and three brothers.Pallbearers were Pierce Clark, Steve Thomas, Mitchell Lyons, Deric Horne, Darrell Wilson and Michael Evans. Honorary pallbearer was Tony Sharp. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Madden Lighthouse, P.O. Box 8, Madden, MS 39109 or your charity of choice.
