DEWAYNE WARRENREV. RANDY CALDWELL Mr. George, 75, of DeKalb, MS, died Friday, May 8, 2015, at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian. He was a native and lifelong resident of the Hopewell community in Kemper County, where he was a cattleman.  He retired after 25 years from Hughes Telephone Company. He was District Three Election Commissioner for a number of years.  Mr. George was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He had served in the Mississippi National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Gatha Harbour George of DeKalb; sons, Rev. Dustin “Dusty” George of Maryville, TN and Colton “Cody” George of Maben; brother, Wayne George (Yvonne) of Meridian and a niece, Pam Howard of Malibu, CA. Mr. George was preceded in death by his parents, T. L. “Bud” and Macie George; stepmother, Sarah George Cherry, and grandparents, Ferrel and Mollie George.
