FRED BRITTON Mrs. Darby was born and reared in the Arlington community of Neshoba County and moved to Philadelphia in 1931.  She served for 20 years as Deputy Chancery Clerk for her father, I.D. “Bud” Darby, prior to being elected Chancery Clerk of Neshoba County where she served for 16 years.  Miss Darby was a member of First United Methodist Church in Philadelphia.  She was past president of B&PW Club, Philadelphia-Neshoba County Arts Council and Philadelphia-Neshoba County Chamber of Commerce. She was selected East Central Community College Alumnus of the Year in 1974. Survivors include her sisters, Rachel Evans and Sarah McKay both of Philadelphia; nephews, Michael Darby Evans of Starkville, Allan Thomas Pickle, Jr. of Ridgeland and Jon Scott Evans of Germantown, TN; and four great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Jessie Darby.Pallbearers were Mike Evans, Scott Evans, Lan Pickle, Allan Thomas Pickle, III, Ben Evans, Dan Evans, Charlie Evans, Ronnie Douglas and David Williams.
