DAN HOWARD Mrs. Hamilton, 101, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Choctaw Residential Center. She was born and reared in the Cash community of Lena and made her home in Philadelphia most of her life. Mrs. Hamilton was a member of First Baptist Church in Philadelphia where she taught Sunday School and was very active in WMU for many, many years. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Frances Maczis (Bill) of Baltimore, Maryland, Virginia Brooks Hawkins (Jerry) of Arab, Alabama, and Dora Lee Tucker of Edinburg; grandchildren, April McDonald (Idos), Elizabeth Monk (David), Eric Maczis (Jeannie), Tony Maczis, Troy Hawkins (Yvette), and Craig Hawkins (Melissa); 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brothers, Wiley Singleton Brooks, Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska and Ray Brooks of Lena. Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her husband, Dovie Hamilton and grandson, Jay Tucker.Pallbearers will be Troy Hawkins, Craig Hawkins, Thomas Jayroe, Ronnie Posey, Ronnie Hamilton, and Billy Sharp.
