DAN HOWARD FATHER AUGUSTINE PALIMATTAN Mrs. Hicks, 93, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Neshoba County Nursing Home. Katie Hicks was born and reared in Neshoba County and made her home in Philadelphia for most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she worked with the bed babies during Sunday School for many, many years. She loved little babies and loved having the opportunity to “teach” them. Mrs. Hicks enjoyed talking to people and gained energy from the daily interaction working retail. She was an excellent cook who enjoyed feeding her family every Wednesday and Sunday. She loved her four children but her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Hicks and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Sharp. Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Mills (Larry) of Philadelphia, Linda Kuykendall (Mike) of Hattiesburg and Pam Thrash (Danny) of Philadelphia; son, Danny Hicks (Regina) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Kim Kilpatrick (Michael), Justin Mills (Tamra), Jonathan Mills (Katie), Katherine Callaway (Carter), Kelly Kuykendall, Kristen Lambert (Jake), Jessica Byars (Clay), Katie Thrash, Meg Thrash, Emily Moran (Brett), Brian Hicks (Catherine), and Jim Hicks (Betsy); great-grandchildren, Linnie Kate Kilpatrick, Chaney Mills, Garrett Mills, William Mills, Henry Mills, Mary Carter Callaway, Cannon Callaway, Cooper Callaway, Ava Byars, Eli Moran, Mary Kate Moran, Charlie Moran, Hattie Hicks, Lilly Hicks, Daniel Hicks, Gipson Hicks, Hadley Hicks, and Daisy Hicks; and one brother, Ken Breland of Vicksburg.
