MARK THOMPSONREV. BRIAN MCDONALDMr. Green, 88, of Preston, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at home. He was born and reared in Preston.  He joined the Army and served as a medic in World War II.  After returning from military service, he worked as a logger and farmer.  He enjoyed gardening and fishing.  Mr. Green was a member of New Covenant Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Ethel Green of Preston; daughters, Catherine Page (Warren) of Clinton and Margaret McDonald (Yates) of Preston; son, Bobby Green of Preston; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Maude Green; sons, Willie Green, Harold Green and Paul Green; grandson, Jason Reed; great-grandson, Charlie Cross; and brothers, Mitchell Green and Chalmers Green.Pallbearers were Justin Reed, Jonathan Green, Jacob Green, Floyd Green, Brandon Warren and Bobby Perkins.  Honorary pallbearers were Lane Yarbrough, Seth McDonald, Jerad Green and Dalton Bufkin.
