LAWRENCE POOL Mrs. Cumberland, 84, of Philadelphia, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at her home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. She formerly worked as a supervisor at Garan in Philadelphia and as an inspector at Union Shirt Factory. She later worked with her husband at Ed’s Battery Service. Mrs. Cumberland was a member of Sandtown United Methodist Church where she was involved in many church activities. She was also a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Johnson of Pearl; sons, James M. “Mike” Cumberland (Teresa) of Philadelphia and Ronnie Cumberland of Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Josh Cumberland-who she raised (Pam) of Philadelphia, Patience Robinson (Paul) of Stephens City, VA, April Jones (Joey) of Prentiss, Kevin Johnson (Carolyn) of Brandon, Melanie A. Phillips of Pensacola, and Eric James (Laura) of Pearl; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Cumberland was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie J. Cumberland; two brothers and two sisters. Pallbearers were Josh Cumberland, Eric James, Mark Duncan, Kevin Johnson, Joey Jones and Eric Gist. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Madison and Lance Duncan.
