She retired from Wells-Lamont in Philadelphia. Mrs. Eakes was a member of Pentecostal Apostolic Church.Survivors include daughters, Sylvia Hooton of Tupelo, Sharon Sharp of Atlanta, GA, and Lisa May of McComb; son, R. Bryant King of Brandon; sister, Maxine Alford of Calico; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.Mrs. Eakes was preceded in death by her husband, James Milton Eakes; sons, James L. Eakes, Norman J. Eakes, Roger Dale Eakes, and David Russel Eakes; daughter, Mary Jane Eakes King; sisters, Lucille Coats, Myrtle Coats, and Grace Guthrie; and brothers, Kenneth Smith and Rufus J. Smith.
