Roberts, 77, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, December 29, 2013, at his home.He was born and reared in Carthage and attended Carthage High School.  He worked on highway construction with his dad and took over Robert’s Construction after his dad’s retirement.  At age 30, he committed his life to the ministry and became a pastor in Louisville.  He pastored several other churches before coming to Philadelphia 23 years ago to pastor Christian Life Tabernacle.  He was a people person and loved to help others.Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Sylvia Jean Holland Roberts of Philadelphia; daughter, Theresa Winters and her husband, Mark of Denham Springs, LA; son, Thomas M. “Tony” Roberts Jr. and his wife, Jeri of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Mandy Ducote and her husband, Colten, Jessica Roberts, Zackary Winters and Andrea Winters; great-grandchildren, Dawson Dunn and Brylee Roberts; and sisters, Olene Van Krevelen and her husband, Tom of Florida and Rachel Duran and her husband, Charles of Jackson.Rev. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents, George W. Roberts and Mary McCann Roberts; son, Ricky Roberts and grandson, Cason Cole Ducote.
