BRIAN WEIR Mr. Lanig, 58, of Quitman, MS, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was born in Hobart, OK and graduated from Snyder High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice with a secondary degree in Parks and Recreation. He worked for 27 years for Tom Steed Lake. After retirement, he moved to Mississippi and had worked for the Department of Wildlife, Parks and Recreation as manager of Clarko State Park. Survivors include his wife, Diane Melton Lanig of Quitman; daughter, Jennifer Fortune Fortenberry (Jay) of Philadelphia; son, Michael Duke (Melissa) of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Katlyn Duke, Erin Heathcock, Mallory Duke, Clayton Fortenberry and Jackson Fortenberry, all of Philadelphia; sister, Ann Butler (Terry) of Lake Kiowa, TX; brother, David Lanig of Mountain Park, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antone and Edrie Lanig and his brother, Bobby Lanig.
