M.MCCLAIN-HAYS FUNERAL HOMEINTERMENT: HOLY ROSARY CEMETERYTUCKER COMMUNITYOFFICIATING: FATHER BOB GOODYEAR Dorothy "Dot" Turner Duncan, 91, died at home on October 31, 2013.Born in Neshoba County to Claude and Emma Lewis Turner, she lived there until she married Andrew Jerome Duncan who was in the United States Army. While married, they traveled and lived in many places in the USA and overseas. When her husband retired from the U.S. Army, the family moved back to Mississippi. Dorothy worked as a switchboard operator before being married. She devoted herself to being an Army wife, as well as an outstanding mother and homemaker. She stayed active in the community, helping establish the Tucker Volunteer Fire Dept. and was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Dorothy Duncan’s survivors include 3 children: Susan Harris, Vickey Timmons, and Steve & Lisa Duncan. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Red Turner, Elvin Turner, and Nettie Turner Wright; her daughter, Regina Duncan Bosarge; and her husband, Andrew Duncan, the love of her life to whom she was married for 70 years. She had 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Dorothy Duncan provided a role model as a loving wife, devoted mother, and faithful Catholic. Serving as a "second mom" to many, she will be loved & missed by all who knew her.
