CREIGHTON WHITEMr. Luke, 69, of Preston, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.He was born in Philadelphia and was a longtime resident of Preston.  He graduated from Lynville High School in 1962 and attended East Mississippi Junior College. In 1966, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served four years active duty which included an 18 month stay in the Azores Islands, where he served as a diesel mechanic on diesel power generators that supplied power to the various islands.  Mr. Luke worked several years with his father in road construction and retired after 28 years with Kansas City Southern Railroad.  He was a member of Coy United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Donna Luke of Preston; daughters, Candi Luke Jenkins of Preston and Christina Luke Harper and her husband, Ray of Preston; son, Donnie Luke and his wife, Lisa of Preston; five grandchildren, Jayden Luke Jenkins, Cassidy Rayven Jenkins, Ashton Tristan Luke, Maggie Marie Cumberland and Lundy Grace Harper; mother, Florine Luke of Preston; sister, Cheryl Wilson and her husband, James of Preston; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mr. Luke was preceded in death by his father, Herschel E. Luke and brother, Phil B. Luke.
