DENNIS DUVALLMr. Akins, 76, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.He was born and reared in the Fork community of Neshoba County and had made his home in Philadelphia for the past 40 years.  Mr. Akins was a member and deacon of Grace Baptist Church.  He was a retired auto mechanic.Survivors include his wife, Earline Akins of Philadelphia; daughters, Carolyn Thaggard and her husband, Eddie of Willis, TX and Sherry Akins of Marietta, GA; son, Gary Phillips Akins and his wife, Celeste of Philadelphia; granddaughters, Chasity Anderson, Natalie Thaggard, Katelyn Galasti and Magan Watson; grandsons, Wade Akins and Paul Moss; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Illene McGee of Philadelphia and Mary Sullivan of Philadelphia.Mr. Akins was preceded in death by his sisters, Sarah Peebles and Clara Johnson; and brothers, Perry Akins, W.H. “Dub” Akins and Carroll Akins.Pallbearers were Paul Moss, Steve Thomas, George Sciple, Lonnie Holley, Paul Galasti and Wyatt Waddell.
