LAWRENCE RUNNELSMr. Nicholson, 89, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian.He was a native of the Bloomo community in Neshoba County and attended Bloomo School where he played basketball.  He was a longtime Philadelphia resident.  He retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1986 where he worked as a purchasing agent.  After retirement he worked as dispatcher for the City of Philadelphia Police Department.  Mr. Nicholson was a charter member of North Calvary Baptist Church.  He was a member of Gideons International and was a Mason and Shriner.Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Bonnie Nicholson of Philadelphia; daughters, Jeanie Maddox and her husband, Bill of Fort Smith, AR, and Charlinda Anderson and her husband, Jimmy of Philadelphia; son, Bill Nicholson and his wife, Nancy of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Eric Nicholson, Todd Berry, Melissa Kairuz, Kimberly Jones, Ashley Freeman, Reid Maddox, Jennifer Jenkins and her husband, Jerry, Valarie Copeland and her husband, Chris, Nick Anderson and his wife, Faith, and Angela Smith and her husband, Cody; great-grandchildren, Cole Freeman, Caleb Freeman, Porter Jones, Ava Jones, Ethan Maddox, Kendall Maddox, Joshua Jenkins, Jordan Jenkins, Victoria Copeland, Anna Copeland, Jacob Copeland, Hanah Anderson, Austin Anderson, Hallie Anderson, Maciey Smith, Zoey Smith, and Izabella Smith and several nephews, nieces and their families.Mr. Nicholson was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Donie Nicholson, three sisters and one brother.Pallbearers will be Nick Anderson, Chris Copeland, Reid Maddox, Bob Pruitt, Dewayne Stevens, and Cody Smith.Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Nicholson, Todd Berry, Dr. John Mann, Dennis Dontrich, James Breedlove, and David Eubanks. The family wishes to say a special thanks to Sta-Home Health nurses, Gail Allen, Brandy Winstead, Lisa Thompson, and Kristen Abel and physical therapist, Johnna Agent.
