TIM EVANSMrs. Murphy, 81, of Pensacola, Florida passed away peacefully on July 31, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola. Nell was born and raised in the Lynville Community near DeKalb, Mississippi. After graduation from Lynville High School, she moved to Mobile, Alabama where she later met and married Rolf Murphy. In 1967, the family moved to Pensacola, Florida where Nell worked in civil service at NAS until her retirement.The greatest joys of her life were her four children and two grandchildren. She was a dedicated member of the United Methodist Church and the local NARFE chapter. She loved her flowers and birds and had a servant’s heart.She is survived by her son, Ron (Mary Jo) Murphy of Newton, Mass.; daughters Karen (Tim) Evans, Vicki Murphy and Molly Murphy, all of Pensacola, Fla., her grandsons, Zach and Luke Evans along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.Nell was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Neola Cook; her husband, Rolf Murphy and her three brothers, Homer Cook, Kenneth Cook and Jack Cook.Pallbearers were Jim Cook, David Whittington, Terry Cook, Wayne Cook, Luke Evans, Mike Hall and John Cook.
