BILL COX Mrs. Slaughter, 88, a beloved wife and mother, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at Atwood Personal Care Home in Philadelphia. Proverbs 31 well says "...Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies...Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her...a woman who feareth the Lord, she shall be praised." Both she and her beloved husband were born in Neshoba County. He joined the Army Air Corps before World War II, and they first lived in Texas. When he retired, they moved back to Neshoba County, where she worked at J. C. Penney for a number of years. Both were faithful members of Sandtown United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children Peggy Kent of Pensacola, FL; Patsy (Scotty) Brown of Jacksonville, NC; and Ginny (Tommy) Williams of Philadelphia, MS. Her grandchildren are Max (Julie) Kent, Meagan and Justin; Leslie (John Wesley) Crews and Juni; Jeremy Williams and Diana Gomez; Scotty (Margot) Brown and Jane; and Margaret Brown and Yusan Ishimaru. She is also survived by a very special sister-in-law Jean McDonald; three brothers-in-law Walton Fulton, Richard Higgins, and Kenneth Slaughter; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Slaughter was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Erskine Slaughter, her parents Arthur and Maggie McDonald; her brothers James and Pat McDonald and a brother who died as an infant; and her sisters Vivian Cox, Lora Cox, Ethel Jones, Marguerite Fulton, Winnie Ruth Higgins, and Dot May."Her children arise up, and call her blessed..."
