DAN HOWARD Patricia Joy Williams Perry beloved wife of the late Wendell H. Perry passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at 3:50 PM. Patricia was born in Jackson, Mississippi on May 29, 1928. She attended Poindexter Elementary, Enochs Jr. High and Central High School in Jackson.  She attended Calvary Baptist Church with her parents. Her family moved to Philadelphia, Mississippi in 1944. It was here that she met her future husband the day before he left for England in World War II where he served as a B-17 gunner with the eighth Air Force.  After making 35 missions over Germany he returned to the states and was honorably discharged before his 20th birthday. Patricia graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1946 she attended Blue Mountain College, East Central Junior College and Mississippi Southern. While at Blue Mountain, she won the "best listener" award presented each year by Dr. Lawrence T. Lowery, President of Blue Mountain.  Music was an important part of her life.  She taught piano for several years in Neshoba County's school system.  The girls and boys she taught brought her great pride and remained loved by her throughout her life. She was an active member of the Junior McDowell Club of Jackson.  As a founding member of the Lydian Music Club of Philadelphia, she remained an active charter member serving as President during the 25th anniversary celebration in 1975. Patricia was an active member of the GFWC-MFWC Futura Club of Philadelphia, serving as president for six years. She served as MFWC District Two treasurer as well as on the MFWC State Board for many years. She was currently serving as counselor-mentor for the GFWC-MFWC Futura Juniorettes, an organization providing support for opportunities of volunteer service for high school girls. Patricia was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Philadelphia for over 60 years, serving in W.M.U., Training Union and Sunday school.  At the time of her passing she was Director of Adult IV Sunday School and a member of the Building Committee overseeing the recent construction of the Christian Life Center, the sanctuary renovation and the stained glass window project. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Wendell Holmes Perry, her parents Mr. and Mrs. J.P. Williams, Jr., an older brother Bertram Rabb Williams who died before her birth and her son-in-law Steve Stuart of Clinton.  She is survived by her daughters: Linda Ann Hantzis of Philadelphia and Pamela P. Stuart of Clinton; sons Robert Rodney Perry and wife Donna of Columbus Ohio, Wendell Williams (Bill) Perry and wife Pam of Cordova Tennessee, and Frank Daniel Perry and wife Stephanie of Philadelphia; as well as 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers were Perry Hantzis, Paul Hantzis, Patrick Hantzis, Justin Perry, Michael Perry and Matt Stuart.
