CREIGHTON WHITE Mr. Luke, 65, of Preston, died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was a native and lifelong resident of Kemper County.  Mr. Luke was a member of Coy United Methodist Church.  He was retired as farm manager of the Agricultural Incubator at Alcorn State University.Phil was a devoted son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin to his family.  He was affectionately known as Paw Phil to all of his grandchildren, their friends and teammates.  He was also a true and much loved friend to a multitude of people he had met throughout his life.  Phil loved all sports and attended games throughout the south.  Watching his grandchildren play sports was the highlight of his life.  He was a devoted Ole Miss Rebel fan.  Knowing his Rebels had made it to the NCAA tournament filled him with joy.  In honor of Paw Phil let's all cheer the Rebels on!  Hotty Toddy!Mr. Luke was preceded in death by his son, Phil B. Luke, Jr. and his father, Herschel E. Luke. Survivors include his mother, Florine Stokes Luke of Preston; daughters, Michelle Luke Whittle of Philadelphia and Lora Luke Hines (Chris) of DeKalb; son, Dr. Charlie Luke (Joy) of Midland, TX;  grandchildren, India Whittle, Kaelyn Luke, Zach Whittle and Andrew Tew; great-grandson, Krosby James, all of Philadelphia; sister, Cheryl Luke Wilson (James “Boo”) of DeKalb; brother, Don Luke (Donna) of Preston; and a host of nieces and nephews.Pallbearers were David Vowell, Dan Mars, Chris Burt, Jerry Whitehead, Tim Allen, Leroy Hickman, Jr., Michael Ted Evans and David Barefield.
