Mr. Ford Gray, 93, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at Bee Hive Homes of Philadelphia. He was a native of Simpsonville/Greenville, South Carolina. He attended Clemson University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a longtime resident of St. Louis, Missouri and had made his home in Philadelphia for the past 11 years. Mr. Gray was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a Gold Life Master bridge player and was an Eagle Scout in his youth. Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Emerson of Philadelphia; sons, David Gray of Geneva, IL and Steve Gray of Davis, CA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Creed Gray in November 2012. Graveside services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri at a later date.
