BYRD HILLMAN, JR.REV. JIM MATHENY Mrs. Walton, 92, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Pioneer Community Hospital of Newton. She was a native and longtime resident of the Dixon Community in Neshoba County. She operated, with her husband, Walton’s Grocery south of Dixon on Highway 21 for several years. Mrs. Walton was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where she served as church organist for over 50 years and was a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed gardening, reading, meeting people and served as the family historian. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. E. Walton and parents, Mart and Frances Nicholson. Survivors include her daughters, Janet (Cole) Arthur of Dixon and Teri (Charles) Gieb of Brandon; grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Myers of Ovett, Katie (Ronald) Goss of Dixon , Nathan Gieb and Matthew Gieb, both of Brandon and one great-grandchild, Cole Myers.Pallbearers were Ronald Goss, Ronald Arthur, Billy Nicholson, Chris Myers, Nathan Gieb, Matthew Gieb and Chris Stamper.
