CARMEL CEMETERY Bro. Rhodes, 72, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at his home. He was a native and longtime resident of the Johnsonville community in Neshoba County. He was a farmer, logger and former manager of the pulpwood operation for Molpus Lumber Company. Bro. Rhodes was a retired Baptist minister and formerly pastored at Center Hill Baptist Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church (Stephenstown), CedarHill Baptist Church and New Hope Baptist Church (Lauderdale County). He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his wife, Charlene Rhodes; daughters, Rhonda McGee (Keith), Ramona Palmer (Noel) and Sharon Thompson (Johnny); and son, Shannon Rhodes, all of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Brewer McGee, Eden McGee, Matt Permenter, Jessica Graham (Jamie), Heather Palmer, Jessica Swindle (Jeremy), Josh Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Hailey Rhodes and Dustin Rhodes; four great-grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Jean Boswell of Byram; and a host of nieces, nephews and their families. Pallbearers were Dustin Rhodes, Josh Thompson, Caleb Thompson, Matt Permenter, Jamie Graham, Brewer McGee and Eric Skinner.
