Freeman Strait, 96, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Baptist Medical Center-Leake in Carthage. He was a native of Winston County and lived in Texas from 1950 until 1963.  He then moved to Philadelphia where he made his home.  Bro. Strait was a member of Longino Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Strait, in 2011. Survivors include his daughter, Dale Roan of Ireland; sons, Don Strait (Jan) of Wills Point, TX, Rev. Jimmy Lay Strait (Michelle) of Mesquite, TX, Henry Strait of Seagoville, TX, Randy Strait (Hope) of Royse City, TX, and Jimmy LeeStrait (Selina) of Philadelphia; step-sons, Louis Coghlan (Bonnie) of Philadelphia, Bill Coghlan of Philadelphia, and Rick Coghlan (Cherie) of Plant City, FL; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jane Deweese of Philadelphia and Sherry Roncali of Newton; brothers, Bobby Guy Strait of Michigan and Clint Strait of Lawrence; and a host of nieces, nephews and their families. Pallbearers were Randy Strait, Don Strait, Henry Strait, Jimmy Lee Strait, Ronnie Strait, Warren Deweese, and Ricky Coghlan.
