DAN HOWARD Edna Ozborn Moore, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away October 19, 2012 at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison, MS. She was born in Union, Mississippi, on May 9, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Ozborn and Edna Tidwell Ozborn and grew up on the family farm in rural Neshoba County. She was married to the late Doctor Robert Lee Moore, junior, also of Union. Edna began dating Bob Moore in the eighth grade at Union High School. After graduation, she attended Mississippi State College for Women, and Bob went to Ole Miss. The couple married on May 29, 1946, and they continued their studies at the University of Mississippi, where Mrs. Moore received a degree in Home Economics. The young marrieds then lived in New Orleans. Doctor Moore graduated from medical school at Tulane University and served in the United States Navy, and Mrs. Moore worked as a home economist for Louisiana Power and Light Company. After a residency at the Marine Hospital in New Orleans, the Moore’s lived in Alamogordo, New Mexico where Doctor Moore was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base. Upon returning to Mississippi, Doctor Moore practiced medicine in Decatur and Union. In 1955, they moved to Philadelphia to establish The Moore Clinic and raise their children. After forty years of medical practice, Doctor Moore retired in 1989, and they especially enjoyed the years spent with their granddaughter. Mrs. Moore remained in Philadelphia after Doctor Moore’s death in 2000, and she spent the last years of her life as a resident of St. Catherine’s Village in Madison to be near her daughter and her family. Mrs. Moore was an active member of First Baptist Church and served on the Building Committee. She was involved in the activities of her children in the Philadelphia Schools and Leake Academy, and Stewart Home School in Frankfort, Kentucky. She was a favorite mom to many.
