INTERMENT: HOLY ROSARY CEMETERYOFFICIATING: FATHER AUGUSTINE PALIMATTAM Ms. Polly Thaggard Brumfield, 75, of Philadelphia, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at her residence. She was a native of the Tucker Community of Neshoba County. She graduated from St. Mary of the Pines Catholic School in Chatawa, MS. Ms. Brumfield returned home to Neshoba County in 1987, where she formerly worked for Daly Oil Company and was a longtime Wal-Mart employee. She was an active supporter of Tucker Volunteer Fire Department. Ms. Brumfield was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was instrumental in bringing Mississippi Public Television to the state in the late sixties. Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Brumfield Achatz and her husband, Adrian of Philadelphia; sons, Michael Stewart Brumfield and his wife, Peggy of Mandeville, LA and John Dudley Brumfield of Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Joshua James Brumfield and Jonathan Stewart Achatz; sisters, Patricia Farris of Vicksburg and Janet Banks of Meridian; brothers, Jerry Thaggard of Senatobia, Steve Thaggard of Atoka, TN and James Thaggard of Laurel; and a host of nieces, nephews and their families. Ms. Brumfield was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Marshall Brumfield; parents, Marshall and Maggie Thaggard; sisters, Marguerite Thaggard Winstead, Sister Amadeus Thaggard and Margaret Frances Willhite; and brothers, James Marshall Thaggard, Felix Thaggard, John Thaggard, David Thaggard and Kenneth Thaggard. Pallbearers were Felix Thaggard, Chris Thaggard, Joshua Brumfield, Jonathan Achatz, Johnny Barrett, James Barrett, David Barrett and Maury Banks.
