BILLY JAMES Mrs. Bates, 100, died Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia. She was a native of the Laurel Hill community of Leake County and a longtime resident of the Tucker community of Neshoba County.  She was a retired nurse’s assistant from Neshoba County General Hospital /Nursing Home. Mrs. Bates was a member of Bethsaida Baptist Church. Survivors include her son, W. J. Bates and his wife, Carolyn of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil M. Bates; an infant son; stepdaughter, Mary Annie Musgrove; great-grandson, Teddy Blass and several sisters and brothers.Pallbearers were Doug Bates, Matt Bates, Kade Webb, Richard Lee, Rodney Kelley, Edwin Pullin, Jeff Lee and Stan Webb.
