JAMES MADDOXDR. DAN HOWARD Rev. J. D. Stroud, 77, of Philadelphia, died Monday, April 23, 2012 at Neshoba County General Hospital. He was born and reared in Scott County and made his home in Neshoba County most of his life.  He retired after 33 years with  La-Z-Boy South in Newton.  Rev. Stroud had served as pastor of several churches in this area.  He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Stroud of Philadelphia; daughter, Teresa Stroud of Philadelphia; sons, James R. Stroud of Philadelphia and Arvis Stroud and his wife, Judy of Eupora; and two grandchildren, Amelia Stroud and Elliot Stroud. Pallbearers were Elliot Stroud, Keith Weir, Greg Weir, Bob Burt, Lamar Clark, and Paul Emerson.  Honorary pallbearers included his Sunday school class from Good Hope Baptist Church.
