GEORGE MOOREREV. LAWRENCE POOL Mrs. Prather, 83, of Hattiesburg, died Monday, March 19, 2012 at Pearl River County Nursing Home in Poplarville. She was a native of the Vardaman community in Neshoba County and had been a resident of the Sandtown community in Neshoba County before moving to Hattiesburg six years ago. She also was a former Meridian resident. She previously worked at Garan Manufacturing in Philadelphia as a samples supervisor. She served as a hospice volunteer for several years while living in Neshoba County. Mrs. Prather formerly attended Spring Creek Baptist Church and Sandtown United Methodist Church and was currently a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hattiesburg. Survivors include her husband, Robert Prather of Hattiesburg; son, Bobby Griffin and his wife, Jane of Hattiesburg; daughter-in-law, Laura Hoagland of Buford, GA; grandchildren, Mark Griffin and his wife, Rebecca, Jennifer Griffin, Chanon Dillard, and Danny Griffin; great-grandchildren, Brinkly, Adam, Nicholas, and Luke; sister, Pearl Barker of Meridian; and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Prather was preceded in death by her son, Charles Griffin; three sisters and six brothers.
