MICHAEL SIMS Mrs. Lenora Buntyn Hunter, 95, of Columbia, MS died on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at The Grove, HCF, in Columbia, after an extended illness.Mrs. Hunter was born on January 17, 1917 to the late H.E. and Augusta Underwood Buntyn. She was a graduate of Philadelphia High School, East Central Junior College, and Mississippi Southern College (now U.S.M.). She taught Home Economics in Ringold, MS and Monticello, MS. Later, she taught elementary school in Wesson, MS., retiring in 1985. She was a fifty year member of the Wesson Garden Club, and also belonged to the Brookhaven Camellia Society, Day Lily Society, a tatting/crocheting group, and a quilting group. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hunter, and two sisters; Julia Shepherd, and Claudie Cumberland. She is survived by a son, Alan Hunter (Rose), a daughter, Martha Morrow, three grandchildren; Emily Hunter Beck (Jody), Christopher Hunter, and Angela Morrow Sellers (Maxi), five great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
